Xamarin 2.0 Announces new Starter and Indie Editions [updated]

As part of today's Xamarin 2.0 announcement, 2 new framework compiler editions have also been released.
1. The FREE Starter Edition allows anyone to get a taste of mobile development in C# by writing small apps which can be deployed to devices and published to app stores.
This edition has a executable size restriction, but is otherwise fully featured.
[Updated]
We have since found out that currently MonoGame and Starter Edition will not work, but we are working with Xamarin to get the MonoGame binaries whitelisted and shipped with a future release. Stay tuned.
2. The new Indie Edition will support the growing ranks of independent mobile application developers and hobbyists with an entry price of only $299.
This edition has NO executable size restriction.
Both work with the new super sexy Xamarin Studio IDE, as seen in the link and screenshot above.
The other awesome news is that if you prefer to use Visual Studio to target iOS, you now can!!!

indie edition?
Well, not happy about the indie edition - the full price per platform was 399,- before, now it is 999,-. The indie edition has now visual studio support and no email support. So for 100,- less now you get much less...

Surely Bad news for Indie VS Developers
So I am using Mono for Android lisence, which was $399, so this new Indies version is $100 cheaper at $299, but doesn't support Visual Studio ! - So Xamarin are forcing us to use their own Xamarin Studio, or stump up $999 !
Lots of us ex XNA develoeprs are happy with Visual Studio, so this is not such good news

If you have an existing
If you have an existing license, you automatically get bumped up to the $1000 model. According to Xamarin, you get to keep your old renewal price (which was $250, I think).

Indie Price
i think that monogame team must talk with Xamarin for special price for monogame ,
because Indie price (FAQ) per Developer not for indie studio ( with 2 or 3 developpers) this is a serious problem for Monogame , in this case price equivalent to Unity price

Deploy to device only 32KB
I'm looking at options for porting our XNA WP7 game to other platforms. A prerequisite for any solution for us is that Farseer Physics performs well under MonoGame. To even TEST this I've got to drop $299, and could well find out that money is wasted. Allowing a deploy to device of 32 KB for Starter (Free) license is more or less worthless.

You can always request a trial, you can't deploy to devices but you can link, also the people at Xamarin are very receptive, ask them

This new campaign was realized while using same intense colors and dynamic
images such as first campaign. It's fun, easy to dance to, and addicting to jam to in the car. Was Disney able to revitalize a 20-year-old classic.

Xamarin Studio IDE
Has anyone tried working with MonoGame using their new Xamarin Studio IDE instead of Visual Studio? If so, any comments as to how it was/if there were any noteworthy issues or shortcomings?
